Monday Me #3

Exercise
This week I went to Zumba.  I've been a handful of times before and in a fairly cynical 'I used to be a dancer' kind of way, have never really found it challenging.  Plus, I'm not really the kind of person who enjoys exercising these days - since having children I'd much rather find myself slumped on the sofa come 7pm than gear myself up to go out!  But this week I decided to throw myself into it and there were a couple of new dances I'd not done before.  Suffice to say that I was aching all over the next day!

New Book
I also finished the current book I was reading "The Paris Wife" by Paula McLain, a book about Ernest Hemingway and his first wife.  I'm going to be honest and say I shed a little tear over how unfair the story really was, considering much of it was true.  I'm all for being realistic but sometimes I like to have happy endings!

This meant that I could then start a new book which was "Double Cross" by Malorie Blackman.  It's number 4 in a series and although it's meant for teenagers I've really enjoyed reading them.  Plus, I know a book is good when I've been reading it for two days and I'm 332 pages in!

This book is second to last in a pile I've accumulated over the past few months so I'm now on the lookout for any good reads.  Feel free to recommend some to me!

I'm linking this up with Emma's "Monday Me" over at the Mini Mes and Me.  Pop over there to check out some more Monday Me entries.

  1. Well done on the Zumba! I've got it for the X-box and Wii yet rarely do it, oops - I have been good and done a fair bit of aerobics recently though.

    1. Ooh I'll check that out thanks, the link doesn't work on my phone so will have a look later. I'll read absolutely anything! Although I've stayed away from 50 Shades as I'd heard it a few people say it's not well written x

  2. I keep saying I will link up to this but other than a quick swim I have nothing to say Ive done - must try harder! For people with 2 left feet like myself Zumba is very technical!

  4. This might be something you have already read, but The Hunger Game trilogy were fantastic. I read them all in under five days, as I was hooked. It's a little harrowing, but gripping to say the least.

  5. I partake in a little zumba every week....am rubbish at it though! Every week I ask myself, at what point do you admit defeat and stop going! I enjoy it and most weeks I even sweat but rarely find that I ache. I think that it's good cardiovascual stuff but probably not really for tonight, which is what I need. Well done for going though!

    1. I think even some exercise is better than none! I tried running for a while but I always found more excuses not to go than to actually get out for a run. The best thing about Zumba is how fun it is - I'd much rather do that than running lol
