All The Fun of the Beach...

I know that this blog is often full of beach tales and photographs but honestly, it's where we happen to spend most of our time!  Whether the weather is playing nice or rain is pouring down we try and get out to our local beach at least once a week; and the experience never gets old.

We have lived by the coast for 2 1/2 years and it is still by far one of the kids' favourite places to hang out.  They love dune running, sandcastle building, jellyfish spotting, hunting for water creatures, paddling in the sea and everything in between.  I honestly can't remember what we did with our time before spending it at the beach became such a huge feature.

I wanted to share some of my favourite beach photos from the last couple of weeks in today's post.  I write this blog as a way of keeping memories for years to come, as well as sharing our daily lives with a wider group of people, and I wanted to write this post for posterity.

I hope that we never become bored with our trips to the beach and that no matter how many times we return home with sand in our hair, faces sticky from ice cream and one less sun hat than we left with...that we will still look back on the day with fondness.

I hope that we can eventually head to the beach without having to take a carload of extra supplies with us as, although we have become quite streamlined at gathering together the things that we need and we keep a lot of stuff on hand already packed, it is inevitable that Eli will need more than one change of clothing because he'll land in the water even on a freezing day.  I'm sure he actively seeks it out, in fact!

And I hope that the kids keep their enthusiasm and desire to explore and create whilst we are at the beach.  Because nothing quite beats watching their faces light up with delight and excitement each time we arrive.
