I have found myself driving all over the place, constantly running around like a headless chicken but I don't seem to have much to show for it and it's so frustrating when I had so many things I needed to get done at home!
Of course, as with life, when times are busy something has to give and in this case it has been the blog and my writing. both of which I plan to get on top of in the next week or so. Famous last words!
The kids have finally settled back into school; despite Eli wanting to quit after just two days and we seem to have (so far) managed to get out of the house on time.
We've also enjoyed seeing a lot of family over the last few weekends; celebrating birthdays and babies and engagements.
I am still looking for a new challenge; looking back over my CV I think that something must happen to me when it comes to the end of summer as I have started nearly all of my new jobs in the month of October! I love the freedom of working from home and I am still planning on continuing to write (in the hope of a publishing deal) but I also need something which energizes and stretches me that little bit more. I'm finding it more difficult than I thought though which is hard to admit!
I've also got a major case of itchy feet; we have been living in the North West for almost 3 years now and although I love it and the kids are very settled in their school, I am beginning to wonder what is next for us. I don't think we would move too far but in terms of us being settled as adults...I don't know whether we are quite there yet. There's a big question mark over this and I'm sure there will be for a while yet; it's not the kind of thing we will change immediately.
I think there is something to be said for wanting a fresh change as we move into a new season. With feeling as though I want a new challenge in my work life and something different for our home life...perhaps it is just an overall feeling of being ready for the new now that summer is officially over.
Regardless, I would quite like the month to slow down just a little bit. I'm not ready for it to be October yet!
